Referral FAQ

‍What is Monte Nido?
  • Monte Nido is a leading provider of eating disorder treatment. We offer Inpatient, Residential, Partial
Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs to adults and adolescents of all genders.
  • We have in-person programs in 15 states, and virtual options in 30+ states.
What are the steps for referring someone to treatment?

After sending the referral above, our admissions team will be in touch the same day the referral is received to start the admissions process. The Admissions Counselor will work to:

  1. Facilitate an intake evaluation with the client for eating disorder care
  2. Run a verification of benefits to determine coverage for client
  3. Obtain required documentation, such as labs and medical clearances
  4. Recommend level of care placement and program options
  5. Coordinate payment options for the client and their family
  6. Extend an admission date and ensure a warm handoff to the program
‍How long does the process normally take?

Monte Nido Admissions moves as quickly as possible once a referral is made. Admission to a virtual treatment program can occur as quickly as one day. Time to admission to in-person program depends on the client’s ability to move through the steps outlined above.

Our Admissions teams operate Monday through Friday from 9 AM until 8 PM Eastern and Saturdays from 9 AM to 9 PM EST. Any referrals received outside of these hours will be responded to at the start of the next business day.

Will I get information about how my client is doing after a referral?

Our clinical teams connect with active outpatient providers on a client’s care team after a client admits. Regular communication occurs between Monte Nido providers and outpatient teams to coordinate care, create a comprehensive treatment, and discharge plan.
