Dr. Tiffany Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Auburn University where she Directs the AppearanCe Concerns, Eating, Prevention, and Treatment (ACCEPT) Lab. She is also Co-Director of the Auburn Eating Disorders Clinic (AEDC). Her primary program of research focuses on developing and evaluating interventions for body image and eating disorders in marginalized and understudied populations across sexuality and gender. Her research projects have focused on developing prevention programs to reduce eating disorder and muscle dysmorphia risk and treat eating disorders for LGBTQ+ and male populations, understanding factors related to treatment outcome across gender and sexual identity, and understanding how interoception and gastrointestinal anxiety impacts eating disorders. To date, she has published over 100 peer reviewed articles, and her research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, the Arlene and Michael Rosen Foundation, and the Global Foundation for Eating Disorders. She has also held several leadership positions in the field of eating disorders in international organizations including the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the Academy for Eating Disorders.
