Karina Fajardo, MD is board certified and trained in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She graduated undergrad from the University of Miami and went to medical school in Costa Rica at the Escuela Autonoma de Ciencias Medicas. Karina completed residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. In her fourth year she served as Chief Resident. While in residency, Karina was also recognized as Resident of the Year in her second and third year. She was also nominated and was part of the SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program: A fellowship program through the American Psychiatric Association which is dedicated to improving mental health for diverse minority populations (working with Women’s Mental Health) from July 2012 – July 2014. For the past 11 years, Karina has been working with eating disorders with Monte Nido alongside her private practice. She is curently at Monte Nido as Director of Medical Operations.
