Monte Nido Chicago offers state-of-the-art, evidenced-based residential programming for eating disorders and co-occurring presentations. Located in the village of Winfield, Monte Nido Chicago provides programming for all genders.
Monte Nido’s trusted treatment approach focuses on the restoration of physiological and nutritional balance, implementation of healthy eating and exercise routines, elimination of harmful behaviors, and development of motivation and treatment engagement. Our objective is to help each client achieve a clear understanding of their eating and/or exercise disorder and its effect on their life, as well as an individualized appreciation of what is necessary for their personal recovery. We help our clients:
- Work toward ceasing restrictive behaviors and elimination of other disordered behaviors relating to eating and co-occurring disorders
- Address trauma reaction and substance use co-occurring presentations through interventions such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, Motivations Enhancement Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and interpersonal therapy.
- Heal their relationship with food while developing a clearer understanding of disordered thinking, attitudes, and behaviors
- Identify and address underlying causes of their eating disorder and removing harmful patterns that affect self-care and relationships
- Understand that food- and body-related behaviors are connected to feelings, and develop a healthy expression and practice of emotions
- Accept their natural size and shape while improving self-image
- Identify and modify patterns that may complicate recovery, with participation from family and other loved ones
- Develop an effective aftercare plan that includes strategies for relapse prevention and arrangements that ensure a smooth transition to aftercare providers

At Monte Nido & Affiliates, our goal is to help make treatment accessible and we are committed to working with families to access care. Each of our programs are in-network with different providers. We have also been able to coordinate single case agreements with providers if we are not in network with your insurance company. Please see our Financial Considerations page for more information.
Research Outcomes
Monte Nido Chicago provides a comprehensive research study, approved by an Institutional Review Board, in order to assess treatment outcomes in our programs. This reflects the efficacy of the care we provide. Recent outcomes at Monte Nido Chicago include:
- 76% of clients with Anorexia Nervosa – restricting demonstrated clinically significant weight gain and reported decreased urge to restrict.
- 91% of clients with Bulimia Nervosa reported improvement in or complete cessation of compensatory behaviors
- 96% of all clients improved in eating disorder symptoms on the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (EDEQ) global score, 92% of clients diagnosed with PTSD at admission improved in symptoms of trauma, and 85% improved on depression symptoms.
- 32% of clients received Cognitive Processing Therapy to relieve trauma symptoms and, of these, 86% demonstrated significant improvement in their trauma symptoms (as measured by PCL-5 scores that could be considered remittance of symptoms.
