FAQs about online eating disorder treatment
Virtual eating disorder treatment allows clients to receive the same treatment as they would receive in person but virtually via laptop, smartphone, or other in-home technology using a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. Everyone is on the same platform to encourage sharing and participation in a secure, supportive environment.
Virtual eating disorder treatment programs, similar to our in-person day treatment programs, have been designed to help people develop or maintain their personal recovery goals. Clients in our virtual programs have a dedicated team of care professionals, which may include a dietitian, nurse practitioner, and therapist. Together, they create a personalized treatment plan and goals, which include individual meetings as well as group therapy, meal coaching and support, specialty groups, and family therapy.
Our Virtual Services are for adults and adolescents of all genders. During your evaluation, your admissions specialist will recommend the level of care that will be most clinically appropriate to help you toward lasting recovery from your eating disorder.

We've renamed the Rainbow Road program to "Monte Nido Virtual LGBTQIA+ Treatment Program" to make it easier for everyone to find and understand the support we offer, especially for the LGBTQIA+ community. Although the name has changed, the great care and support you expect from us hasn’t. This new name just helps people find the right help faster.
We've updated the name of the Free to Be program to "Monte Nido Virtual Binge Eating Disorder Treatment Program." This change helps clarify what the program focuses on, making it simpler for those seeking help with binge eating disorders to find us. Don't worry, the essence and effectiveness of the program remain the same; it's just the name that’s new, helping potential clients connect with us more directly.
Monte Nido offers both Virtual and In-Person programs, each providing compassionate, evidence-based care designed to support lasting recovery. Both settings include Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care for adults and adolescents. Our In-Person continuum also includes Residential and Inpatient programs, offering 24-hour support for clients who need higher levels of structure, medical care, or stabilization.
In-Person treatment takes place at one of our Monte Nido, Monte Nido Clementine, Monte Nido Rosewood, or Monte Nido Walden locations nationwide. These settings allow for direct, in-person connection with staff and peers, shared meals, and on-site therapeutic support.
Virtual treatment provides the same level of clinical and nutritional programming as our in-person PHP and IOP programs but is designed with the virtual environment at the core. The programming is tailored to deliver outcomes virtually with rotating specialists throughout the day to provide engaging curriculum and ensure safety to support clients in their homes. Virtual PHP also offers remote medical monitoring by a registered nurse. This option offers flexibility and accessibility for those who may not live near a Monte Nido location or prefer to receive care from home. Monte Nido’s virtual offering also include specialty programs such as LGBTQIA+, ARFID, Binge Eating Disorder, Family Based Therapy informed, and others designed to meet the diverse needs of our community.
Whether in-person or virtual, clients receive individualized care from a multidisciplinary team committed to helping them restore a balanced relationship with food, body, and self.
