Monte Nido East Bay

Monte Nido East Bay, opening in early 2020, will offer state-of-the-art, evidenced-based residential programming for eating disorders and co-occurring presentations. Located in Lafayette, California, in the east bay of San Francisco, Monte Nido East Bay will provide programming for all genders.

Our treatment approach focuses on the restoration of physiological and nutritional balance, the implementation of healthy eating and exercise routines, the elimination of destructive behaviors and the development of motivation and treatment engagement. We also emphasize the development of insight and coping skills for the emotional and psychological issues that create risk for relapse and can represent barriers to becoming fully recovered. Our objective is to help each client achieve a clear understanding of their eating and/or exercise disorder and its effect on their life, as well as an individualized appreciation of what is necessary for their personal recovery.

As passionate and inspired professionals, we relentlessly strive to grow, retain talented team members and encourage creativity. If you are interested in learning more about working at Monte Nido & Affiliates, please visit here.

Monte Nido’seating disorder treatment center in the East Bay instills a treatment approach that focuses on the implementation of healthy eating and exercise routines, restoring balance on a physiological, emotional, and nutritional balance, the removal of self-destructive actions, and the development of motivation to attain a fully recovered lifestyle.

In each course of care for bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and other eating disorders, our objective is to help each client achieve a clear understanding of their eating and/or exercise disorder the ways it has affected their life, and also a deeper personal understanding of how to achieve a full recovery.

Our clients benefit from the following core philosophies and methodologies:

  • Practicing a healthy and appropriate expression of emotions
  • Developing an understanding that numbers are not a measure of self-worth
  • Achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight
  • Work with families and significant others to identify and modify patterns that may be complicating recovery
  • Designing a well-developed aftercare plan which includes loved ones and friends to maintain a long-term recovery
  • Practice appropriate expression of feelings
  • Reducing and eventually eliminating eating disorder and exercise disorder behaviors with a focus on completely eliminating restrictive behaviors
  • Heal their relationship with food while addressing weight, nutrition, exercise and disordered thoughts and behaviors
  • Working toward medical, metabolic, and nutritional balance
  • Develop insight into the ways disordered thinking, attitudes and behaviors cause destructive patterns in self-worth, self-care and relationships
  • Identifying and addressing the underlying causes of the eating or exercise disorder
  • Understand the connections between food- and body-related behaviors and emotions
  • Improving body image and focusing on the acceptance of one’s natural body size and shape
  • Teaching and putting into practice lifelong recovery and coping skills, such as meditation and self-monitoring
