Anita is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of San Diego. She then completed a post-masters program in Expressive Arts Therapy earning a Professional Diploma from the Expressive Arts Institute of San Diego. Anita has extensive experience working with clients in recovery from substance abuse, various addictions and PTSD. Anita also supports those with acute and chronic illness and those who struggle with various mood disorders in a hospital setting. Anita’s breadth of experience allows an understanding of the various challenges from those who struggle with an eating disorder. Her desire is for clients to find expression through the power of art making. This is facilitated through visual arts, breath and body awareness, visualization meditation, writing reflections and poetry. Anita believes expressive arts therapy can be a foundation for healing, and a client’s art experience can be a resource for support, strength and courage along that journey.
