Sandy Gershenson brings an extremely diversified background to Monte Nido. From completing a 2-year program at UCLA for dental nursing and working as a Registered Dental Assistant to another program at UCLA for interior design, Sandy found her passion in culinary classes that she took throughout the years. Sandy started with Monte Nido as the Kitchen manager at the Eating Disorder Center of California and has been working since 2007 as the EDCC chef. She expresses gratitude for her spouse, children, their spouses, her grandchildren whom she shares she learns from everyday, and all the wonderful women in her life who keep her connected to her spirit.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered “Man. He sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.  And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die and then he dies having never really lived.”
