Emily Hamilton LCSW

Assistant Clinical Director

Emily studied psychology at Bard College before obtaining a Masters of Social Work from UCLA School of Social Welfare. She has worked at the Eating Disorder Center of California first as a volunteer and has grown through several roles as an administrative assistant, group therapist, primary therapist, lead therapist, and now serves as the facility’s Assistant Clinical Director. Emily specializes in family systems work, attachment based therapy, and co-occurring disorders. In addition to her role at Monte Nido, Emily has a long history of volunteer work with 24-hour suicide prevention hotlines. She has presented for Monte Nido on Body and Soul Group, diving into the role of soul searching in the treatment of eating disorders. Outside of her work in the field, Emily enjoys live music, outings with her dog, recreational sports, and glassblowing. “Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness.
