Eating Disorder Treatment of New York
Monte Nido Manhattan
EDTNY: Monte Nido
Using the same philosophy and protocols of Monte Nido & Affiliates, Eating Disorder Treatment of New York is a day treatment and intensive outpatient program located on the upper west side of New York City. EDTNY is available for male and female adolescents and adults who are transitioning from residential care needing a higher level of treatment than outpatient or for those who need a little more structure, as well as group support, than weekly therapeutic sessions.
Eating Disorder Treatment of New York places high priority on individual care including treatment planning and individual therapeutic sessions for anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and exercise addiction. Under the guidance of Carolyn Costin, having treated in eating disorders for over 30-years, an advocate and author, the program specializes in treating the co-occurring issues often surrounding an eating disorder such as alcohol and drug addiction, depression, isolation, obsessive-compulsive disorders and anxiety.

A Letter from EDTNY's Clinical Director:
Welcome to the Eating Disorder Treatment of NY (EDTNY). We welcome you to the first Monte Nido program in New York. We look forward to working with you and with the people in your life who are supporting your recovery from your eating disorder. Eating disorders are complicated illnesses and they can have a profound impact on your health, your relationships, and your hopes and goals for your future. You've made a courageous decision to seek treatment with us and our goal is to help you take steps that can move you in clear and meaningful ways towards full and lasting recovery. Congratulations on this important first step.
We believe that full and lasting recovery requires that full attention be paid to the unique and detailed needs of each individual. Our program is designed, first and foremost, to help you re-establish your medical, nutritional and psychological well-being. We also pay particular attention to possible coexisting factors, which could exacerbate or help maintain an eating disorder, such as mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and attention deficit disorders.
Our staff, some of whom have recovered from their own eating disorders, will help you set clear and focused goals for change, many of which involve thoughts, feelings and behaviors associated with eating, body concerns, and nutritional health. Our program also directly addresses issues regarding relationships, self-esteem, self-awareness, and overall self care. Our focus is on how we can help you make immediate changes in your eating disorder while helping you develop and refine your own understanding of the issues, thoughts and feelings that may be a part of your eating disorder.
